Mariela is the Founder, Vodcast Host, and Creative Director of THE FORGOTTEN BRIDE, an inclusive bridal fashion and storytelling platform created to celebrate every kind of bride. She leads the creative vision behind the brand, building a space where 40+, curvy/plus‑size, LGBTQ+, petite, pregnant, disabled, and other non‑traditional brides feel seen, honored, and truly embraced.

Her commitment to this work is deeply personal. Mariela was a plus‑size bride at 34 during her first wedding, standing 5'3" and nearly 200 lbs. She walked into bridal boutiques expecting joy, and instead encountered limited samples, dismissive glances, and the quiet suggestion that her body wasn’t what bridal fashion had imagined. Now, as she prepares for her second wedding as a bride in her 50s, those experiences guide her mission to create the celebration, dignity, and welcome every bride deserves.

With a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a Master’s in Fashion Studies from Sapienza University in Rome, Italy Mariela blends strategic insight with a deep understanding of fashion, culture, and the emotional journey of becoming a bride. Her career also includes extensive experience working with celebrities and their fashion brands, giving her a unique perspective on style, storytelling, and the power of representation at every level of the industry.

Her work centers on guiding brides through body‑affirming, transformative styling experiences that honor their stories, their identities, and the beauty they bring to the aisle. She oversees all visual, editorial, and narrative elements of the brand, ensuring every touchpoint feels warm, inclusive, and thoughtfully designed.

Mariela is also the producer and host of the forthcoming vodcast THE FORGOTTEN BRIDE: UNVEILED, where she brings documentary‑style storytelling together with fashion and cultural insight. Through intimate conversations and cinematic visuals, she creates a space for brides to share the moments, memories, and emotions that shaped their journey, while also engaging fashion designers and industry professionals in deeper conversations about representation, craft, and the future of bridal fashion.

Currently, Mariela is in the process of developing capsule collections of inclusive bridal apparel and accessories, working closely with designers, makers, and industry partners who share her commitment to representation. She also cultivates relationships across the global bridal and fashion landscape to help ensure that inclusivity becomes a standard, not an exception.

Mariela’s mission is to make sure your story is honored with care, artistry, and intention. At the heart of everything she creates is a simple belief: every bride deserves to feel celebrated, visible, and REMEMBERED.
